Meet the team!
Our finance team is responsible for ensuring the financial health and stability of Unifonic. The team is made up of experts in financial planning, budgeting, reporting, procurement, business assurance and more. We work closely with all departments to make sure we are making smart financial decisions that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
We are seeking a Group Tax and Zakat Strategist to lead our multinational tax strategy across Middle Eastern markets where our SaaS solutions operate. This strategic role is designed to optimize our tax efficiency while ensuring full compliance across diverse jurisdictions, with particular focus on zakat obligations in Saudi Arabia and corporate tax in the other countries.
The position serves as the central orchestrator of our tax function—not handling day-to-day filings (which remain with local accounting teams and consultants), but providing strategic oversight, risk management, and business advisory support that enables our rapid growth while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Help us shape the future of communication by:
Provides expert tax guidance that shapes financial planning and business decisions
Proactively identifies and addresses tax risks before they impact operations
Develops tax-efficient structures that improve our overall financial performance
Oversee group-wide transfer pricing policies and intercompany arrangements, aligned with OECD and local guidelines.
Serves as the final central point of expertise for all tax-related matters across jurisdictions
Ensures tax considerations are integrated into strategic initiatives, M&A activities, and IPO and expansion plans
Maintains oversight of tax compliance across all operating jurisdictions without slowing business velocity
Identifies tax savings opportunities and optimizes our effective tax rate across the group
Builds zakat /tax frameworks that support our continued expansion across Middle Eastern markets
Collaborates with all departments to ensure tax implications are considered in business planning
Manages strategic relationships with tax authorities and external zakat and tax advisors
Builds needed tax awareness across relevant teams to prevent issues and optimize decision-making
Job requirements
Lead the creation and implementation of a group-wide tax and zakat strategy tailored to our SaaS model and Middle Eastern jurisdictions, in partnership with trusted consultants.
Serve as the central liaison between local accounting teams and tax consultants to ensure accurate, timely monthly filings (VAT, payroll tax, zakat, etc.) and review submissions strategically.
Optimize group tax efficiency through structuring, transfer pricing policies (aligned with OECD), and treaty utilization; support tax-efficient repatriation and business decision-making.
Stay ahead of tax law changes by coordinating regulatory intelligence and building a proactive tax risk framework in collaboration with internal teams and external advisors.
Oversee relationships with consultants and authorities, ensuring effective representation during audits, disputes, and strategic engagements.
Prepare executive-level reports on tax position, compliance, and exposure; maintain centralized records including strategy papers, TP documentation, and jurisdictional updates.
Provide strategic tax input on M&A, reorganizations, and contract structuring; support investment decisions with robust tax impact analysis.
Build internal understanding of tax and zakat obligations through training and briefings; serve as the escalation point for complex tax matters.
Leverage strong knowledge of Saudi tax and zakat laws, with hands-on experience across multiple jurisdictions and in the SaaS/tech sector.
Combine advanced tax planning and Excel/ERP skills with a high-integrity, self-driven mindset and the ability to engage with executives, auditors, and regulators alike
